I use an old technique and seek to discover what its like to keep food fresh while being completely independent of any other services.

Description
In my work IJSKAST (ICEBOX) I discover what it is like to operate a refrigerator while being completely independent. It doesn't run on electricty but on physical energy and the natural source; ice.
Since a large block of ice has to be cut out to make it cool inside.
Because of the ICEBOX's insulation, the ice melts slowly, keeping food fresh.
I take inspiration from the history of the ice trade industry, but make it my own and give it a new spirit.
By making all of the tools needed by myself, I had the opportunity to give them their own character. I wanted to implement my own style as much as possible. The goal is to fully connect with the product and my surrounding.
