Building must and can be cleaner.
Traditional building materials, such as concrete, steel, brick and synthetic insulation, are a major burden on the environment in production and increase the waste problem when a building is demolished. Construction causes approximately 40% of all CO-2 emissions.
By replacing these materials with regrowable, biobased materials, we make the world a better and healthier place.
Our structural 'Strotec Façades' consist of 98% wood and straw. These biobased materials capture CO-2, ensure a healthy and comfortable indoor climate and leave no residual waste behind.
Due to the high insulation value and heat buffering of the 'Strotec Facades' , a minimum of installations is required for air treatment, heating and cooling. This results in lower purchase, energy, maintenance and replacement costs for installations.
We build and insulate with our biobased, breathable and vapor-permeable building system that leaves no waste at the end of its life.

Strotec Façades ; 3 times climate-positive
Strotec is an Eindhoven company and has been around for more than 10 years. Strotec focuses on 3 spearheads:
- A better indoor climate in homes / buildings
- Circular construction (C2C)
- Minimizing CO2 impact.
Strotec has discovered straw as the most ideal base material. Straw is a residual product of grain farming, which grows annually, has a very high insulation value, has a high accumulating capacity, is completely cradle-to-cradle, has a surprisingly high fire resistance (when pressed) and is very vapor-open.
We ended up with the prefabricated HSB straw façade system EcoCocon. With this prefab façade system, Strotec develops building concepts. It is constructive, modular, biobased; fully certified and applicable in residential construction, schools, offices and institutions.
In 2022 we had a brake-through with 'Ons Natuurhuis' that turned out to be the best fit for Ballast Nedam Development, which is taking a new path. They make the climate-positive straw home accessible to a larger audience. The new normal in living!
Last year, at the DDW '22, we installed the Strotec Tower. This year we are adding a number of elements and showing our pre-assembled 'Strotec Façade' .
Strotec Facades; Naturally Biobased
To make real impact on reducing emissions associated with construction and meeting growing demand, bio-based and climate-positive building systems we need to scale up.
Strotec is taking a solid next step with a pre-assembly line for complete 'Strotec Façades'.
We are working on a façade factory, where complete façadeparts are produced under conditioned circumstances. These are then delivered to the construction site as 2D components and fitted with frames with doors and windows, and with interior and exterior claddings. There they can be mounted directly on top and to next to each other. Up to 5 layers high, without auxiliary structures. With auxiliary constructions, much higher can be built.
In this way, construction is lighter and can be done faster, without construction waste. The buildings keep a high level of CO2 storage in the facades and they provide - last but not least - a beneficial indoor climate.
