Dutch felt-designer Beatrice Waanders (Rotterdam, WDKA) worked several years as an interiorarchitect for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2008 Beatrice made a career change to a feltdesigner and started her ecological felt-label The Soft World. Beatrice and her team create high-end interior textiles for architecture like floor- wall- and window objects. All of her products are 100% sustainable and recyclable, handmade from local left-over wool she obtains directly from Dutch sheepshepherds. No chemicals are used, just water, soap and muscles. None of the wool is even dyed, The Soft World exploits the rich color palette of the animals themselves. The Soft World was presented at prestigous fairs like Dutch Design Week Eindhoven, Maison & Objet Paris, Salone di Mobile Milano, Design Week Tokyo, Object Rotterdam, PAN Amsterdam and more. Her work is featured in magazines and books worldwide like Lidewij Edelkoort Blog, Elle Decoration Italy and more. She works with interior designers worldwide and brands like LVMH and Maison Margiela.
