BIOTIC is an ongoing research project and material archive. In this material research microbes are used to grow a biological material. This material is made of bacterial cellulose.
Bacterial cellulose is made using yeast and bacteria in a fermentation process. Each bacterial cellulose sheet has a different translucency and colour, as the growing process is unpredictable. After the growing process Studio Lionne van Deursen experiment
