Greenland’s ice shelf is represented by layers of fabric, sourced from overalls from a closed factory. The patterns are based on contour lines from maps that display the decline of the ice. With this project, I want to remind people our planet is melting.
In 2019, the Greenland ice shelf lost 532 billion tons of ice. Although this exact figure probably isn’t widely known, it should not come as surprising news. The fact that the earth is warming and climate is changing is a fact almost everybody knows.
