Our daily life environment

Over the last decade there has been a significant growth into the desire to continually be connected through digital space. A social connection made through artificial intelligent systems that is transforming and adapting physical language into visual understanding. What will happen if these online systems will talk to each other through physical cues? Which paradigms of visual language will it create? A staged performance of this visual language is being shown to shift the perspective back towards our understanding of reality.

The symbolism of light

Avidity is an interactive modern artwork, highlighting the consequences of the Internet of Things “IoT” systems on our daily life. The sequence of light-chairs are symbolising animistic behaviour, creating a new visual conversation where the human is being projected out of consideration. The conversation between the animistic objects are not based on the structures of a human like language, but a visual language out of an algorithmic language, resulting in a continue changing environmental experience.

Unfolding ruimtelijke condities

Avidity was part of the exhibition “Loophole“ that took place at Roodkapje in Rotterdam. An exposition that unfolds a process of teasing out various kinds of loopholes in an effort to forge a new connection with the given spatial conditions. Avidity called attention to the structure of looping processes: simulating, replicating or exaggerating the relations we hold with quotidian technologie.
