Most of the plants we see in our gardens today are so distant descendants of plants found in nature that they say more about man than about the plant.

Imaginary box

The boxwood, conifer and other hedge plants where we have the irresistible urge to cut it into an imaginary box, ball or pillar, are the winners. The Dutch garden is overflowing with culture, while nature has been completely pruned away.
