An ode to the grind.

Everyone is in a rut sometimes. Doing the same thing every day and experiencing no change. The word “rut” has a negative connotation. You see a lot of advertisements and messages that offer solutions to get out of that dragging rut, but the habit of life is not that one-sided. Because routine makes repetition and that repetition is what gives life meaning. Repetition makes routine, something you can hold on to and give you safety, peace and strength. I don't think we dwell on what the rut can bring to all of us. Especially in times where we don't go outside often and the focus is more on what we do indoors. That is why I think it is important to search for appreciation of life in the here and now. This can mainly be found in the activities that we do in our living environment every day. Brushing your teeth, cooking, sleeping for example. These actions ensure good, constant health.It is wisdom that we pass by. With my work I bring these activities into a positive light. In this way I want to show the power of repetition in habits and then make people realize how nice the “rut” actually is.
