Did you know that 10% of the Dutch population has Indonesian roots? That is a lot! Gigi van Grevenbroek is third generation of Indo's and puts her family history and the general history into her illustrations. She started the project: Indo Mural.

Indo stories

After her research into her family history, the general history, a collaboration with Rijksmuseum for their exhibition Revolusi and several interviews Gigi interviewed 8 other entrepreneurs who put their Indonesian roots in their business. They all do this in a unique way. The inspiration and the different stories Gigi got from these conversations come together in one big colorful illustration. Mural

Normally illustration have a small size and can be seen on screens, your phone or in magazines. Gigi likes to blow up her work and puts her illustrations on big walls. That is why for this project you can visit Gigi's work at Sectie-C, where she presents a 2,5 meter by 3 meter mural.

Tours

Gigi van Grevenbroek organizes six tours along her mural. During this tour she takes you with her into the story of the Indo community of The Netherlands, tells about the highlights of her project and there will be time to ask questions! Every day there are two moments for the tour: - Friday 28 oktober 12H00 en 15H00 - Saturday 29 oktober 12H00 en 15H00 - Sunday 30 oktober 12H00 en 15H00.
