During DDW22, Studio AENEAE presents 'Lux Quadratum'; a concept version of their chandelier with the versatility of a charm bracelet

Escape

With their first collection, Studio AENEAE introduced 'Siblings be like...', a collection of hand-painted figures depicting all the members of the family in which Erna and Victor grew up. At the heart of this collection, created during the lockdown period, was an abstracted human figure, which they named ESCAPE. While creating this collection, they came to the conclusion that with this basic ESCAPE form, any object could be designed. Thanks to a commissioned child's bed, Erna and Victor immediately set to work on this new concept. In addition to the bed, they also designed a night table and a rug and presented the entire collection at DDW21 at Piet Hein Eek and a little later at the Salone del Mobile with Certosa Initiative in Milan.

'Charm chandelier'

For the chandeliers, the duo is again building on the ESCAPE-concept, and this figure is once again at the heart of the designs. The basic form of the chandeliers is made of 2 by 2 brushed brass pipes and consists of adjustable amounts of lighting points. The Lux Quadratum can be personalized by adding handmade accessories to make it fit any occasion. By hanging, clamping and rotating the different handmade ‘charms’ to the base of the lamp, it’s appearance can be changed instantaneously. From a minimalistic piece for general use, to a more eye-catching centerpiece.
