In the coming decades, we will increasingly face complex societal challenges. Buikpraat facilitates the connection between caregivers, designers, theoretical and practical organizations, allowing them to collectively make a difference. The earlier the positive impact, the greater the societal gain. We facilitate a movement from isolated islands into one collective. 'Now' is the time for everyone – caregivers and organizations – to work together for a fair start for tomorrow's generation. Caregivers often want to do more to contribute to the development of their child but don't always know how. This is a shame, because there is a lot of scientific and practical knowledge available about parenting and children's development. However, this knowledge typically doesn't reach the most important group: the caregivers themselves. By using social design techniques, Buikpraat is able to map the living environment and needs of (expecting) parents. We translate scientific insights into practical exercises and manageable knowledge. In doing so, we build a bridge between science and practice.
