What started as a first introduction to designing furniture for a 4-year course in interior design at Thomas More, Mechelen. The design assignment started as a table for two - and was during the design/creative proces created as a table for one: "We've drifted too far apart..."

I Am An Island

In search of silence and solitude, while exploring our own identity, we will not only discoverour true nature but also that of people around us. That way isolation can create a raw and pure deprivation and can cause a hard and difficult confrontation with ourselves and our environment. In this search for ourselves and our own true identity - we may realize that we are no longer able to make a connection with people that surround us. We've drifted too far apart...
