Jelmer Nijp
This year, we present our own Re-Veneer collection, including a cabinet, Re-Veneer tiles, a room divider, and more. Also on display is 'Phases of Laura', a plasterwork project. Our guests are Thomas Trum, Ted Noten, Into Niilo, and Martijn Stelt.

Re-Veneer

Pieces of leftover veneer are pressed together to form a sturdy whole. Used to create various furniture and objects. The technique stems from the industrial process of laminating where a sheet of veneer is used to cover the less attractive material underneath. Here, veneer is used throughout the whole object. By pressing the different layers of veneer together in a specific mold, combined with solid wooden parts, the material is shaped and gains its strength. The manual process allows for freedom in arranging the different parts of veneer, where each object can have an individual, unique structure.

Phases of Laura

Phases reinvented, as a tribute to Folkert de Jong’s 2007 'Balancing Act of Laura'. A rawer version of Jeroen Wand’s traditional Phases, in which Laura’s colors and the mold’s natural wear and tear are incorporated into the design of the vase.

Guest Designers at our Studio

Thomas in the bathroom - Thomas Trum

Thomas Trum is a painter fascinated by leaving traces. Exploring abstract art, he works within a self-imposed, restrictive framework focusing exclusively on line and color across various scales — from paper to facades. Thomas showcases his latest work in our studio, including a site-specific wallpiece in the bathroom.

The body collective - In Dialogue by Ted Noten and Into Niilo

Ted Noten’s designs critique contemporary life, jewelry history, and product design, challenging conventions, habits, and the line between the familiar and unusual. Into Niilo is a jewelry designer with a fashion background, known for an innovative approach to materials, techniques, and media. During Dutch Design Week, they present a visual dialogue challenging conventions through jewelry, form, and material.

Anymals - Martijn Stelt

Studio Stelt translates the craftsmanship of upholstery into creative explorations of form. Rooted in traditional technique and driven by a love of material, the studio pushes the boundaries of a time-honored trade, shaping soft, tactile pieces that make bold visual statements. Anymals wants to bridge the gap between people and planet.

About Studio Jeroen Wand

Studio Jeroen Wand creates products, objects and installations that challenge the established order. The studio explores the dynamic raw and unpolished part of design, stimulating the search for alternative forms of what is to be considered beautiful or agreeable. The designs of the studio are not conventional and compliant, but go beyond the predictable.
