Awakening Light
Lightwall brings human craftsmanship and computational processes into dialogue. A continuous pattern of hand-cut white paper stretches across its surface, reflecting the hidden structure beneath. In daylight, the intricate geometry and craftsmanship come into focus. When illuminated, the surface becomes a field of shifting light, colour and shadow. Kinetic prisms respond to visitors’ presence, inviting them to pause, look closely and discover how their presence becomes part of the work. Following the original installation’s premiere at the California Center for the Arts Museum in 2026, a second-generation version was developed for Dutch Design Week.
