VIVOMER biodegrades in a home compost
Shellworks
London-based SHELLWORKS is a material innovation company. They make plastic-free materials for everyday products, starting with packaging for personal care, beauty and household goods, having already replaced over 16 million units of packaging.

VIVOMER or what comes after plastic

Their material, VIVOMER, is designed for the way people actually use everyday products: it performs like the plastic they’re used to, lasting as long as you need it to. It just doesn’t last forever. VIVOMER is made using naturally occurring microbes to ferment primarily second-generation feedstocks, creating materials that are completely stable in use but that can biodegrade completely when disposed of, leaving nothing behind. VIVOMER is free of microplastics, free of BPA and free of PFAS, and certified home compostable by TüV Austria.
