Burning the abortion section of criminal law
Burning the abortion section of criminal law

A pink coffin confronting Parliament. N→Fight Watch. Mouths taped shut against femicide. And more! Experience at Manifestations how 7000 Dolle Minas shape activism. Handmade DIY punk, playful, blazing in protest, together. With the patriarchy on mute

Shaping and igniting Dolle Mina’s fire

Burning social problems? We love setting them on fire. The abortion section of criminal law, the corset and bras went up in flames. We kick down the doors of power and show what happens behind closed doors: victims of domestic violence go unheard. No women on the ballot, and so no voice? Our pink coffin confronts the Dutch Parliament, which buries our right to stand for election.

Witness how Dolle Mina gives a voice to whoever and whatever needs to be heard. We jump the pay gap (and as a woman of colour or black or with a disability, your leap is even bigger). We stand in silence for victims of femicide, make consent-demanding clothing, and merkins (yes, vulva wigs) to rid the Dutch dictionary of ‘shame lips’ as the word for labia. Massive problems get massive attention in many ways, always unmistakably, unashamedly Dolle Mina.

Night Watch → Fight Watch, ánd activist drag

Silently visible or loudly audible. Felt, deeply. Step into a real protest, amid protest objects, photos, film and illustrations. See how Dolle Mina flips the script; on gender boxes and roles as well! Backed by painted defiant women - still far too rare in museums. In a new take on the world-famous painting, you won't see the Night Watch but the Fight Watch. Ánd - on Saturday 17 October only - an activist drag performance by drag king Antoine Panaché and hyper drag queen Claire Despaire!

Chopping off all dicks???

Where do we seek solutions? Chopping off all dicks seems a bit extreme and not the best way to stop rape. It raises questions, but it does make one thing clear: we too often turn to victims for answers instead of to perpetrators. Not only for rape, but also for domestic violence: sending victims to shelters while the abuser stays in the comfort of their own home. What solutions – no dick-chopping required – are available to us when we turn to the root cause of the problem instead? Let Dolle Mina surprise you and join us in thinking up ways to craft a better world. Together. A flaming-hot 9-day Minafestation at Manifestations!

About Dolle Mina

On 23 January 2025, Dolle Mina returned to the statue of Wilhelmina Drucker, the icon who fought for women's suffrage, after whom Dolle Mina as a feminist activist group is named. This is where in 1970 Dolle Mina burned the corset as a symbol of the oppression of women. Now the fight for equality continues, with a new type of feminism: one that includes and engages everyone. Flaming-hot urgency. 7000 Dolle Minas. Across the Netherlands and part of Belgium. Together.
