Inside Sound
Most people experience music from outside the instrument. Electric Grand reverses this perspective. Visitors literally walk through the piano and discover how individual notes occupy space, interact and create an immersive acoustic environment. Every step changes the way the composition is perceived.
Hidden Architecture
The installation consists of a Yamaha CP-70 electric grand piano connected to 72 individually amplified loudspeakers, each suspended inside a lightweight bamboo construction. Every key has its own dedicated speaker and individual volume control, making the internal structure of the instrument audible and visible. The result is a unique fusion of musical performance, sound engineering and spatial design.
Shared Experience
Electric Grand is both a concert and an installation. Live performances alternate with moments in which visitors freely explore the sound landscape. The project invites audiences of all ages to experience music with their ears, eyes and body, encouraging curiosity about design, technology and the invisible structures behind sound.
