RELISH is a collection of wearable glass and ceramic objects that reimagines how we eat. By changing familiar gestures such as holding, dipping and licking, the project shifts attention from taste alone to touch, movement and interaction.

The Act of Eating

Eating is an everyday act, yet many of the gestures surrounding it happen almost unconsciously. RELISH begins by looking at the moments before taste: how food is held, touched, dipped, licked, and brought towards the mouth. By changing the objects involved in these actions, familiar eating behaviours become less automatic and more noticeable. The project invites people to slow down, experiment, and become more aware of the physical relationship between the body, the object, and food.
