Rethinking a universal object
Rooted in Mediterranean memories, the yellow lozenge buoys floating off the seashore of Cadaqués in Catalonia were the initial inspiration for this object. After measuring the proportions of these original buoys, a digital shell was 3D-modeled. The project’s core innovation lies in its mechanical engineering. By integrating a screw thread directly into the 3D-shaped structure, the bag opens and closes with a simple twist, eliminating the need for zippers, buttons, or complex hardware (unscrew to open, screw to close). 3D-printed using a selection of bio-based filaments, the rigid shell seamlessly merges functional design with sustainable manufacturing, offering a diverse colour palette.
