We are becoming increasingly more dependent on technology, we fight wars with drones, we're giving away our freedom in the name of security, Big Tech has access to our data, and no one is anonymous.
'This Is How You Take Away Freedom' is an interactive art installation in which the visitor discovers the existence of a secret manual, manipulation techniques, and mechanisms of power through an ATM, three old payphones, and a dilapidated street wall.
What starts as an innocent action; withdrawing cash, turns into an ominous choice when the visitor is suddenly asked a question. Through an anonymous source, you discover how we are step by step manipulated into giving up our freedom. From creating chaos to deploying mass surveillance: everything serves a single goal: absolute control.
This installation brings together various disciplines: installation art, performance, storytelling, and audio. Vintage machines have been converted into interactive objects, while the street wall displays critical observations about political systems, the prosecution of political opponents, the impact of digital platforms, and the dangers of algorithms & AI.
