Weave / Weld exhibition
Weave / Weld is a material playground of experiments, from tiny weld points to large-scale structures. Weave / Weld makes the connection itself part of the design. A process wall of sketches, tests and samples leads to a series of hanging works, revealing how welding patterns, folds and layers can generate volume, relief and new spatial textures.
Beyond the scale of the object, Weave / Weld explores how these material samples could find applications in architecture and the built environment. By introducing softness, tactility and variation into otherwise flat structures, Weave / Weld investigates how materials can help soften, enrich and humanise the spaces we inhabit. The work proposes new ways of thinking about surfaces, partitions, façades and spatial elements. Not only as functional components, but as active contributors to atmosphere, experience and wellbeing.
