For the architects
Antoine Guitou created Chateau Resort, a label dedicated to artful decoration as immersive environments. For architects, their works transform spaces through made-to-measure textile landscapes, often recalling the tradition of medieval style wall tapestry. Crafted with veils layered like stained glass, their pieces are not just objects but carriers of meaning, portable, intimate, and inheritable across homes and generations.
About the craft
The process, alike a patchwork, makes the format technically limitless. It could go in any space of any size and would fill it and make it grand. Here it’s a special kind of appliqué with an edge top stitch. Some pieces of moka, peach and tangerine fabric are placed on a jade green backdrop. Without light coming from behind they stand boldly on the green. With light, their colours fuse with the background and tend to blend together. It creates more subtle brown shades.
School of line and school of the colour
Antoine always double the graphic composition with an extensive chromatic research. To imply a feeling of depth without perspective, he modulated the scale of the patterns in warms colors on the colder green. The shapes dialog with the pleats of the veil. The object is neither totally 2D nor really 3D. It is an in between, a door to somewhere else.
