R.A.W.

At a time when control is becoming increasingly dominant, DDW turns its attention to what cannot be controlled: the raw. Because design does not begin with perfection, but with the urge to break open existing structures, explore, question and reveal new possibilities. A sense of change is in the air. Systems are shifting and old certainties are making way for new possibilities. We live in a reality that seems increasingly malleable: optimised, filtered and packaged into something that appears controllable. Appears. Because beneath that constructed layer is where things get real. That is where rebellion happens, where things grow and something new emerges. That is where it is raw and authentic. That is R.A.W. (Rebel Authentic Worth).

Klokgebouw

Hall 1 | Design of the future. The future of design.

What does it take to design our surroundings and the materials used to create them? In this exhibition, talented and experienced designers present their perspectives on issues that shape both our living environment and how we, as humans, approach the future. With a hopeful undertone, the designers explore today’s and tomorrow’s possibilities.

Hall 2 | Class of 26 & The Avenue of Fresh Perspectives

This is the annual group exhibition where various Dutch and international schools present their most impressive graduation projects at DDW. The exhibition highlights the importance of education and puts the next generation of designers in the spotlight before a broad audience.

Each school also showcases a specific project at the forefront of its presentation. Together, these projects form the 'Avenue of Fresh Perspectives'. These are the works that capture the current zeitgeist and collectively offer an overview of the areas where the next generation of designers will make a difference.

This exhibition highlights innovative approaches to materials and textiles, ranging from bio-based innovations and circular applications to radical experiments exploring new futures. Here, designers demonstrate how creativity together with craftsmanship can contribute to a thriving planet.

Hall 4 | Living Environment, Service & Innovation, Industrial Design HUB

Design shapes how our environment feels and functions. This exhibition brings together the diversity of contemporary industrial design, ranging from innovative ideas that contribute to a resilient future to surprising objects that enrich our daily lives. Discover how design not only offers practical support but also inspires us to view the world differently.
