ādara®

ādara® is a new keratin protein fiber designed for interior applications. Born at the intersection of material science, engineering and design, ādara® explores how a new generation of materials can move from scientific innovation to everyday spaces. The installation creates an immersive blue material environment, where one fiber takes on different forms and functions, from acoustic curtains and upholstery to furniture, flooring and objects. Visitors can experience the material through touch, sound, softness, surface and scale. The project asks what happens when design is involved not only in shaping an object, but in shaping the material itself, its performance, its applications and its path towards industrial production. It is an invitation to designers, architects and makers to imagine what comes next. To create interiors that are durable, authentic and designed with respect for our environment.
