From streetwear to high-performance outdoor models, every sneaker relies on specific materials and construction, revealing the hidden choices that shape its design, functionality, and impact.
The work aims to uncover what is typically hidden, inviting reflection on material choices, recycling, and the often-invisible labor behind footwear production. The piece is the base of a visual and tactile educational tool in her education collective “Footwear Care Lab” and will remain in the museum’s permanent collection supporting ongoing education and dialogue around these issues.
