Discover Forward Furniture during Dutch Design Week 2025: a bold exhibition exploring the experimental future of collectible and signature furniture. Over 100 designer studios present new works that push the boundaries of form and material, while staying rooted in use.
The Next Chapter in Furniture Design
Conceived and curated by Liv Vaisberg, Forward Furniture invites designers to showcase at least three realised works, from signature pieces to experimental editions. Together, these works offer an inspiring glimpse into the next chapter of furniture design.
“We’re entering a moment where furniture is not only functional but also a cultural statement. Forward Furniture is about exploring that shift and presenting the ideas shaping how we will live with objects in the future."
Signature and Collectible Objects
Visitors can explore a wide range of groundbreaking designs, including the delicate Soft Ply lamps by Sheyang Li, Rutger de Regt’s innovative Stretched Thin series, Dirk van der Kooij’s Meltingpot tables, and Pierre Castignola’s playful sculptural objects. From experimental lighting and lounge chairs to repurposed materials transformed into expressive furniture, Forward Furniture offers a unique combination of craftsmanship, innovation, and vision.
Visit Forward Furniture from 18–26 October at De Caai, Eindhoven.
Please note: De Caai is only accessible with a Dutch Design Week ticket.
