Easy to get around throughout the nine days
DDW takes place across several areas of Eindhoven. Within each area, many locations are within walking distance of one another. Planning to visit different parts of the city? Allow extra travel time and decide in advance which locations you want to combine.
By bike
All Dutch Design Week locations are easily accessible by bike, making it the ideal mode of transport. You can bring your own bicycle, use an OV-fiets shared bicycle from Eindhoven Central Station of hire one.
Bike Rental
All Dutch Design Week locations are easily accessible by bike. You can rent a bike via Adams Fietsverhuur at Ketelhuisplein and Fuutlaan, every day from 10:30 to 18:00.
Note: Bike rental requires a valid ID, and payment can be made by card or credit card.
OV-Bikes
During Dutch Design Week, OV-bikes are available for rent from the guarded bike parking areas on the north and south sides of Eindhoven Central Station and from a pop-up in the station itself.

Explore Dutch Design Week with a Polestar Design Ride
Travel comfortably between Dutch Design Week (DDW) locations with a Polestar Design Ride. Along the way, take in Eindhoven and the striking design objects on the roofs of the electric cars. The inspiration continues between locations, too.
You can use the Polestar Design Rides with a registration and a valid DDW wristband. The electric cars travel between all official DDW locations daily from 11.00 to 18.00. Please note: registering does not book or guarantee a Design Ride. It does not reserve a particular journey or departure time.
There are designated pick-up points at:
- The car park next to Microstad (Design Academy Eindhoven Graduation Show)
- Ketelhuisplein
- Piet Hein Eek
- Stadhuisplein/Begijnenhof
- Fuutlaan
- Sectie-C
Want to take a Polestar Design Ride from another DDW location? Call +31 (0)40 218 00 00. During busy periods or when it rains, a Design Ride may not be available straight away, so you may have to wait. You need a valid DDW wristband to ride.
Public transportation
Most DDW locations can also be reached by city bus.
How to get to DDW
Cycling to Dutch Design Week is a great idea! Eindhoven has numerous bike paths that connect locations, and you can find free, and in some cases even supervised, bike parking.
If you travel to Dutch Design Week by train, you will arrive right in the heart of the design world. The intercity will take you to Eindhoven Central Station in the city centre. Local trains also stop at Strijp-S Station. Check the Journey Planner on ns.nl or the Reisplanner Xtra app from 10 days before your departure.
NS Combi-Ticket
This year, you can again use the NS Combi-Ticket. Are you coming to Dutch Design Week by train? Purchase your ticket through NS Spoordeelwinkel. If you are travelling by train from the Eindhoven region, check the special regional fare applicable to the NS Combi-Ticket.
You can reach Eindhoven by car from Amsterdam/Utrecht via the A2, from Rotterdam/Tilburg via the A58, from Antwerp via the A67, and from Arnhem/Nijmegen via the A50.
P+R
There are several parking garages at hotspots like the city centre and Strijp-S, but be aware that it can be busy. A good idea is to park at the various Park + Ride (P+R) locations: park on the outskirts of the city and take a direct bus to Dutch Design Week. There are two options:
- P+R Meerhoven, on Noord-Brabantlaan
- Bus connection to Strijp-S and Stationsplein locations
- P+R Genneper Parken, on Aalsterweg
- Bus connection to Stationsplein
Return bus tickets cost €0.50 per person.
Large groups coming to Dutch Design Week by coach can use the Kiss & Rides.
There are two clearly marked Kiss & Ride locations, indicated by Dutch Design Week signs. One is at the Flixbus stop opposite the yellow bowling pins on John F. Kennedylaan, and the second is on Achtseweg Zuid, on the other side of Beukenlaan, in Eindhoven.
At the Kiss & Ride location at Achtseweg Zuid, the bus can temporarily park near Strijp-S Station for everyone to disembark. However, we urge you not to leave the bus there. There is ample free parking for coaches further along Achtseweg Zuid.

With a valid DDW wristband and registration, you can use the Polestar Design Rides. They operate daily from 11:00 to 18:00 between all official DDW locations.

Opening hours
Most locations are open from 11:00 to 18:00 on all nine days.
With so many locations and programme events, it is worth planning your visit in advance. Before setting off, check the opening hours for each location or programme event. That way, you know what to expect. Explore the programme, choose what you do not want to miss and map out a route between different locations.
Tip: Leave room for unexpected detours along the way. Beyond your planned route, you will often discover surprising places, new work and insights that stay with you long after your visit.
The Bar at Ketelhuisplein is open on the following days and at the following times:
- Saturday 17 October: 11:00–22:00
- Sunday 18 to Thursday 22 October: 11:00–21:00
- Friday 23 October: 11:00–22:00
- Saturday 24 October: 11:00–23:00
