The FOUDAMOUR collection with HEINEN DELFTS BLAUW was the starting point of this collection inspired by the old Dutch interiors of yesteryear, with which Delftware is inextricably linked.

FOUDAMOUR collection

The FOUDAMOUR collection, created in collaboration with HEINEN DELFTS BLAUW, is a series of three exclusive handmade and hand-painted Delft Blue candlesticks, besides a universal message of love, each possessing a unique combination of characteristics. The idea for the FOUDAMOUR candlesticks arose after several, fruitless searches for a personalised gift. A gift made to be a gift that has a deeper meaning and function in addition to being merely a decorative object. The FOUDAMOURS are based on the idea that every person has at least one superpower and they were modelled on people around Victor.

TOTOR, LA BELLE & VICKY-LEE
The FOUDAMOUR collection opens with three characters, and are inspired by Victor's father, his sister and himself. "I deliberately chose pet names for the FOUDAMOURS," Victor explains. "This gives the characters something light, childlike and pure." The first three candlesticks in the collection bear the names LA BELLE, TOTOR and VICKY-LEE, and all three have their own unique combination of characteristics. "For example, one is very compassionate and creative, while the other is very thoughtful and courageous," he says.

'LIGHT BEARERS'

When you light a candle for a loved one, you think of what they need. That is also how the Foudamour collection is put together," says Victor. Each candlestick is slightly different, has a different personality and therefore also represents a special thought or wish. The wish is further sparked when the candle is lit. 'Light bearers', peacefully filling the room with silent power.

The shape of the FOUDAMOUR candleholder, was created in 2018 from the leftover clay that Victor de Bie collected at the end of the day in the ceramics workshop. The cheerful figurines he thus created formed the foundation of this, in many ways, valuable gift. It takes, including painting and the application of 24k gold lustre, 5 hours and 4 courses of firing to make one FOUDAMOUR. In addition, each candlestick comes with a digital certificate of authenticity.

BLEU DE DELFT

To mark the launch of FOUDAMOURS at Amsterdam's Munttoren, Victor designed an exclusive hand-tufted Delft Blue rug 'BLEU DE DELFT' especially for the tower room. The rug was inspired by the traditional Delft Blue pottery and the plush tablecloths with fringes in Persian style, which often used to grace the tables in the typical old Dutch interiors of yesteryear. For Dutch Design Week, Victor further complemented the collection with a coffee table, a smoking chair and a large star-shaped mirror, partly made of used floorboards and finished with beeswax.
