artikel.drei addresses three essential aspects of a menstruation-friendly or equitable society: the visibility and consideration of menstrual needs in the current sanitary infrastructure, spreading advertising-free and scientifically sound knowledge, and free access to (sustainable) period products.
Menstruation is natural, but our approach to it often is not: The visibility of menstruation is often associated with shame. Comprehensive education beyond basic biological facts is seldom provided in schools, and menstrual needs are frequently overlooked in public sanitation facilities. While the provision of sanitary essentials is mandated by law, this requirement does not extend to period products.
artikel.drei references the equality promise of the German basic law constitution (§ Art.3) and demonstrates a new normality in dealing with menstruation.
The concept includes a period product dispenser, providing free access to pads and tampons in public sanitary facilities, a menstrual cup cleanser to improve the practicality of sustainable period products in everyday life, and an educational platform.
