Ropes are transformed into objects through a process of knotting, dyeing, unraveling and binding.
KNOT VI
De KNOT-series is expanding; with her KNOT VI Pien dives deeper into the endless possibilities of rope as a material. She has created her own rope in the TextielLab in Tilburg, the professional workshop of the TextileMuseum, together with passement expert Veva van der Wolf. The resulting 40 meters of colourful rope are knotted into a new ceiling lamp.
About Pien Post
Intrigued by the workings of archives and collective memory, Pien's work plays with the construction of narratives through connotations and associations. Her designs employ familiar signs, symbols and gestures in order to introduce the unfamiliar.
