Eggshell Ceramic
Laura van de Wijdeven
Designer Laura van de Wijdeven developed a biodegradable but strong material out of eggshells. The material has the appearance of ceramics but the weight of cardboard. At the end of its life, the material can be used as a soil improver.
About Atelier LVDW
Atelier LVDW is the material design studio of Laura van de Wijdeven. She researches the future of sustainable and circular materials with a biophilic point of view. Her goal is to enrich interiors by the use of organic waste streams and bio-based matter. Subconsciously connecting its user with nature by implementing these new materials. This social connection between material, human and nature is intertwined in all her projects.
