About Marcel
The Design Perron was founded in 2013 when Meike van Schijndel was looking for a suitable location for an exhibition during the Dutch Design Week in honour of the re-launch of the Delta Vase (1981) by her father Mart van Schijndel (1943-1999). After a long search, Meike ended up at the Fuutlaan with Martin Damen of Opvallers. At their first meeting, Martin showed the building with all the available spaces. Meike's enthusiasm brought that year twelve exhibits in and around the Opvallers building.
