Project ''Codename''

Martijn Straatman answered the question "How would you imagine an unknown place in the universe if you would be able to forget everything you know so far?" with the collection; '' Codename ''. A series of objects from Studio Tinus by Martijn Straatman, which embodies Martijn's world of imagination concerning this question. Watching, dreaming and fantasizing, the base of creation. In a world where everything is available with the click of a Button and where we know more about space than about our own sea, it is hard to let go everything you know. To be able to create this new collection Martijn searched for a place in history, a time before space travel. Late 30’s and in the 40’s, people were heavily fantasizing about Alien life and how things could Look up there. And with that attitude this new collection was created. Transportation, creatures and housing, how would that Look like.
These thoughts, combined with a healthy dose of inspiration from the 30’s and 40’s, created the collection: „ Codename „ And like the descriptions of the unknown are often code-names, so do these new pieces

By using the Collabrophone #2 to bridge the designs from Studio Tinus and the soundscaping world from Cas. The Collabrophone is an ongoing research project with experimental instruments developed by Cas van Son. By using the accessible Collabrophone instruments the attendees and the developer discover new ways of playing music, soundscaping and collaborating while creating something memorable together. With this concept Cas realises, in collaboration with schools, healthcare institutions and makes personalised instruments
