Statera Plant Table

Hosted by Melvin Pijnaker

This project is now archived and was part of DDW21

Event type

Exhibition

Statera is a side table and flowerpot in one, handmade in The Netherlands. Statera translates to balance, it looks like the flowerpot is balancing on the table which definitely makes it a conversation starter.

About Statera

In a world where furniture seems disposable, I believe it is important to be mindful of the objects we introduce in our homes. I think these should be unique and high-quality products that start a conversation. Statera is such an example. At first glance, it looks like a simple design, but if you look closer, you will see the unique details. It is handmade with a combination of artisan craftsmanship and modern production processes. The use of different materials makes the flowerpot and table seem like two separate products, which enhances the feeling of balancing.

Dutch Design Week

During Dutch Design Week you can see Statera at the location of Piet Hein Eek. Would you like to come by? I am present to answer questions and there is the possibility to buy Statera and take it home directly.

About Melvin Pijnaker

My name is Melvin Pijnaker and I live in Utrecht, The Netherlands. I completed my education in furniture making, which I followed up with Industrial Design Engineering to learn more about production processes and design techniques. In 2020 I graduated and worked at the company where I did my graduation assignment. After some experience in both branches, I realized that I wanted to design and create my own products. I want to combine my knowledge of craftsmanship with industrial design.
