Irene van Ophoven is a Dutch designer, stylist and founder of Studio Irene van Ophoven, based in Rotterdam. Geometric patterns and life-size graphic designs are her signature style. Irene is fascinated by textiles, their tactile aspect and how patterns help to turn spaces into meaningful places. With her strong sense of aesthetics and sophisticated use of colour, she creates unique designs. In distinctive interiors such as hotels, open lofts and large office spaces, her work comes into its own. In this new series for MONDiLAB, Irene van Ophoven combines colours, shapes and graphic lines in a playful and individual manner and gives her interpretation of the Bauhaus story; between applied art and design. The work of Studio Irene van Ophoven on show at Dutch Design Week consists of framed velvet wall art, wool carpets and beautiful cushions for a complete arrangement of modern interiors. A live talk will take place on Sunday, October 30th. Come and 'Get Lost Creatively' at 2 p.m. with Irving Vorster in conversation with Irene van Ophoven. Audience is welcome! Driving Dutch Design

Driving Dutch Design is the professionalisation and networking programme of ABN AMRO, Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers (BNO), Dutch Design Foundation (DDF) and Stichting Stokroos that helps driven designers on their way in the world of creative entrepreneurship. Irene van Ophoven is one of them.
