The industry exploits human curiosity for new purchases, despite the abundance of already existing products out there. 'NEW!' directs our curiosity to that abundance of existing products and shows that there are new form and aesthetics hidden inside of them, waiting to be discovered.

Why?

With 'NEW!', I hope to introduce people to a different definition of the new. Marketing, trends, poor quality and planned obsolesce fuel a culture where desire for new purchases persists. Apart from these industrial factors, curiosity is an honest reason why human beings search for new shapes. This natural inherent human behavior is the emotional aspect of living-things that leads to exploration, learning and development. I want to encourage people to stay curious about new forms and aesthetics. To demonstrate the hidden, waiting to be discovered in the abundance of already existing products. The collection of chairs consists of neglected and discarded items, received or collected from people within a radius of 10 kilometers around my house.
