A "old" motorcycle reimagined for new use and modern looks. These bikes were stripped down to their bare bones and build up again to create something new. A unique design for every detail, what makes the whole more than the sum of its parts. Something bigger!

On display

Two unique motorcycles are on display at the workshop of Martin Schuurmans, who uses both his craft and design skills to create “new” motorcycles based on existing models. There are two motorcycles standing in the spotlight, an Suzuki scrambler and a Kawasaki desert sled, and if you take a close look you might also spot something new is emerging on the workbench of this custom bike builder.

Suzuki Scrambler

The Scrambler originated from a Suzuki XF650 Freewind and is made to drive off the beaten track and experience new adventures during a holiday trip. This motorcycle was commissioned for a customer and was developed in consultation with his personal wishes. The result is a complete redesign of the motorcycle, including the subframe and mechanical components. Despite the fact that all parts are made by hand, the bike seems to roll straight out of the Suzuki factory.

Kawasaki Desert Sled

The Desert Sled resulted out of an original idea for a custom bike. The client asked for two things. He wanted the looks of a vintage 'desert sled' and he wanted to merge his 2001 Kawasaki W650 with his 1980 Yamaha XT500. He loved the looks of his XT500 and the reliability and looks of his W650 engine. Thereby creating quite the design challenge to merge these very different bikes and ideas. After some sketches back and forth we presented the design we all got excited about.  Lennard Schuurmans Also on display: motorcycle 'tattoo flash' by his brother Lennard Schuurmans, a tattoo artist who shows his motorcycle passion trough his drawings.
