Urban Tree's Origin

Urban Tree is a company that established its roots a few years ago. The idea for its eponymous product originates from the problems the company's founder experienced during his work as an arborist in urban surroundings. He noticed that slowly but surely, more and more greenery must make way for new houses and buildings. As a result, the biodiversity and plants within urban environments have rapidly declined in the last few years. The remaining greenery is left with little space to grow and faces more extensive rainfall, droughts and extreme heat than ever before. The disappearing plants and trees do not only impact the environment and biodiversity within these areas but also negatively influence the temperature regulations, air quality, social wellbeing, and psychological satisfaction. It is a problem that needs a solution, not just for the climate but for all of us. Urban Tree's sole purpose is to solve this problem by restoring and greening as many cities as possible..

The Urban Tree

Urban Tree is a Robinia wooden frame anchored in a steel planter. This frame forms a solid base for climbing plants to wrap around and mimick a naturally growing tree. Using different climbing plants ensures the Urban Tree of multiple flowering phases that provide insects with nectar throughout the seasons. These climbing plants are suitable for growing in tight spaces with minimal underground resources, meaning that the amount of rich and good soil in our planter will fulfil its needs and solve the problem when no underground space is available. The planter also is filled with low vegetation for a full, biodiverse alternative tree. Installation only takes one day, and the Urban Tree will contribute to our environment for a minimum of 25 years.

A tree for the future

Our Urban Tree contributes to a better climate in more than one way. Additional smart sensors measure different parameters like air quality, rainfall, temperature and particulate matter in each location. These sensors collect valuable data for various purposes. We also care about our climate and our living environment. That is why we built our Urban Trees solely out of natural materials that are sustainable and fully recyclable. In this way, we hope to contribute to a better and greener world.
