Satellite no.2: Ionospheric schizophonic play
Sabina Scorțanu
The ionosphere is a natural electromagnetic field that embodies a discontinuous ghostly nature of information transmission. Three radio-satellites are interweaving the local, global, and celestial voices of the Ionosphere, to enact the fight for the radio spectrum, as an ethereal natural resource.
About Sabina Scorțanu
Sabina Scorțanu is a Moldovan-Romanian graphic designer and multimedia artist, based in the Netherlands. Her work emerges from a fascination with the transient nature of phenomena on the spectrum where humans shape the ecosphere, particularly Earth weather. She constructs tools that react to volatile environments, and reflects on visionary modes of existence in the atmosphere, orchestrating through storytelling acts, shaped by audiovisual works, radiophonic installations, and digital spaces.
