mycoSonic highlights the potential of collaborating with Mycelium, which can rejuvenate waste into aesthetic acoustic designs through bio-fabrication. By incorporating more natural materials like fungi into our future living spaces, we take a step towards a symbiocene mindset.

What is mycoSonic?

MycoSonic is a bio-design project that presents an innovative mycelium-based (fungi) panel installation grown from natural materials with a focus on renewable resources and regenerative practices. These panels are affixed to a canopy structure, inviting visitors to step inside and engage with the acoustic material, curating a sensorial experience that deepens their connection with nature.

Which ingredients were used to Grow mycoSonic?

The project is aligned with a broader vision of transitioning towards circular and sustainable design in future living spaces and communities. This was achieved by repurposing large-scale industrial waste, specifically sawdust and sheep wool, which serve as the primary natural ingredients of the panels. These organic waste streams promote the use of local and natural resources, such as locally sourced raw sheep wool and byproducts from the furniture industry, to support sustainable practices.

Want to know more about mycoSonic?

Designed by Richa Saini mycoSonic is a scale-up initiative for Mycelium Material, a company dedicated to repurposing waste streams into aesthetically pleasing, eco-friendly products. We invite you to step into this organic marvel and reflect on whether you'll welcome mycelium into your living spaces. Are you ready to embrace nature's creation?
