TEMPLO Incense Burner
TEMPLO begins with the act of pausing and celebrates the ritual of preparing a space to share. Across different contexts, lighting incense is often reduced to a purely functional act (simply making a room smell nice), but it is truly a moment of spatial transition, connection, and presence. From this understanding, we developed an incense burner designed to transform the atmosphere and ground the mind before a gathering. The piece combines contemporary product design with Mexican craftsmanship, using local materials and working with local artisans to bring the concept to life. Juxtaposing the raw, earthy weight of a terracotta base with the delicate transparency of a smoked glass cone, the form physically frames the rising smoke. TEMPLO explores how a quiet, everyday object can become an anchor for connection, linking material, tradition, and people through one simple gesture: preparing the ritual.
