Open Call | Grand Projects

Are you involved with a large-scale project, exhibition, or installation, and are you seeking an audience and space? Showcase your work at one of Eindhoven’s most prominent squares during Dutch Design Week 2025 from 18 to 26 October.

Open call

Dutch Design Week is excited to announce the second open call for projects in public spaces. We are seeking substantial projects, sizable objects, and major installations to land on prominent squares in Eindhoven, such as Stadhuisplein, Markt or Ketelhuisplein. Last year’s included Eigengrau Pavilion by Zalán Szakács, Krijt-je-Rijk by De Reuringsdienst, and Sex in the City by Nøha.

Other grand projects include Marco Vermeulen's Biobasecamp, Marjan van Aubel and V8 Architect's Solar Pavilion and Company New Heroes' Growing Pavilion. Dutch Design Week is searching for similar or entirely unique grand projects.

Who can enter

Dutch Design Week embraces designers from diverse backgrounds and aims to present a broad view of the design field while realistically depicting societal trends. The program and community team consider this diversity and plurality during the evaluation of all submissions.

We welcome designers from varied backgrounds and expertise, from architects and artists to designers and researchers. Do you have a grand and spectacular project or installation suitable for the outside space? We are eager to collaborate on making it happen at Dutch Design Week 2025.

Dutch Design Week

Dutch Design Week (DDW) is the platform for quality design. Dutch Design Week is about the design of the future and the future of design. Dutch Design Week opens, inspires, shares, and connects. During the nine-day event, Eindhoven is entirely dedicated to design, covering all imaginable disciplines and aspects of design. The emphasis is on expertise and talent, experimentation, innovation, and crossovers.

Collaboration

If your project is selected, you will be collaborating with Dutch Design Foundation or Bureau Binnenstad Eindhoven to participate in Dutch Design Week.

We will support all the selected projects by:

•  waiving the participation fee for participating in Dutch Design Week
•  providing a hotspot location, and covering the plot fees
•  providing the necessary permits for presenting in the public spaces
•  security costs during Dutch Design Week (insurance not included)
•  partial funding for the production of your project

Please note: As a non-profit organization, Dutch Design Foundation is not a grant provider and does not have a dedicated fund. If your project requires more funding than we can provide, participation in Dutch Design Week will only be possible if you secure the remaining funding yourself.
