leftover synthesis is an exploration into making better use of leftovers within the wood industry through generative design. The constantly changing shapes of the leftovers get rearranged and become a valuable resource again. The furniture is an “assemblage'' from the differently shaped leftovers.

About SimonGehringLab
I am an Industrial Designer currently based in Stuttgart, Germany.
Through my analytical and experimental nature, I seek to rethink conventional approaches and find alternative solutions in industry, culture and society in order to have a positive impact on my immediate and remote environment. My work is characterized by the use of generative tools and exploration of innovative manufacturing processes and materials, where sustainability is not only essential, but formative to the designs.
