Dutch Design Week unveils its music programme line-up

Dutch Design Week (DDW) reinforces the festival feel with its DDW Music programme. Throughout the event, which runs from Saturday 22 until Sunday 30 October in Eindhoven, there are daily live performances at different locations in the city.

Throughout the event, which runs from Saturday 22 until Sunday 30 October in Eindhoven, there are daily live performances at different locations in the city. Today, the organisation announces the first names. The music line-up features Jeremy Loops, Klyne, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Baauer, and more.

DDW Music
This year, DDW Music – which attracted over 5000 visitors in 2015 – returns a second time, organised by DDW, the Effenaar and booking agency Friendly Fire (known for the festival Best Kept Secret). Throughout the week, there are daily live performances at unusual locations in the city, like Nul ZesHet GaslabVan Abbemuseum and Stroomhuis. Held in the evenings, the concerts are a fun way to round off every visit to Dutch Design Week.

 

Programme
The programme is as varied and innovative as DDW itself. The first names in the line-up are: Woodie Smalls, Larry Gus, The K, Jeangu Macrooy, Christopher Paul StellingLouis BerryScott & Charlene’s WeddingS.T. DDW Music Specials 
The programme also presents four specials.  Jeremy Loops, Klyne, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Baauer are currently booked to appear at these larger concerts, held at the 
Effenaar and the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven.

 

Ketelhuisplein
An extra stage on the Ketelhuisplein presents sound design and musical experiments. Composer duo Strijbos & Van Rijswijk, whose body of work combines electroacoustic composition with design and innovative music technology, will curate a programme of interactive compositions, concerts and installations to test out new kinds of musical experiences.

 

Tickets
All concerts (with the exception of the specials) are free to anyone with a DDW go-as-you-please ticket (available online: €17.50 ex. service charges). Without a go-as-you-please ticket, entrance is €5.00 per concert (tickets only available at the door). Please note: there is a limited number of seats available, even to visitors with a DDW ticket. Tickets for the Music Specials are available through the website of the Effenaar  (www.effenaar.nl). DDW visitors with DDW tickets will receive a € 5.00 discount on the ticket price.
