All set! Dutch Design Week 2022 (DDW) was all about getting ready for everything that is coming at us as a society and forging smart coalitions to deal with it.

Get Set... We're on a mission! was the theme of DDW22. A strong sense of urgency was clearly evident among the designers and studios participating in DDW22. Concrete action, solutions and meaningful collaborations characterised this edition of Dutch Design Week.

DDW22 had great appeal, also to international visitors, policymakers and organisations that recognise the power of design. A successful edition, in which participants and visitors inspired each other with positive stories that fed confidence and optimism. Together, we can shape a better future.

Miriam van der Lubbe, Creative Head of Dutch Design Week:
"We see that a new generation of designers has emerged. They reflect on the many complex and urgent issues of our time. Dutch Design Week is a unique platform where the design community shares their innovative ideas and interacts with visitors, businesses, governments and knowledge institutions. While DDW22 is on the level of peak year 2019 in terms of visitor numbers, we continue to focus on quality and putting this indispensable design force in position. The ambition and need to grow into the best platform is greater than ever."

Andrea Trimarchi & Simone Farresin (Formafantasma), ambassadors of DDW22:
“Dutch Design Week over the years has always managed to shine a light on new voices and talents. These need to be protected and nurtured, all those talented individuals need a place where they can convey their ideas. DDW provides just that: a good amount of energy and good spaces. DDW is a celebration of ideas.”

Marjan van Aubel, solar designer and ambassador of DDW22:
“Dutch Design Foundation is also a partner of the Solar Biennale, which shows clear support for the mission to design for the future. This kind of cathedral thinking is something we share, and is always about reviewing systems. You have to look at the bigger picture and collaborate with different industries and parties.”
