Studio Makkink & Bey and Koert van Mensvoort ambassadors Dutch Design Week 2015
Motivation
In selecting Makkink & Bey, DDW has responded to the growing interest for interdisciplinary working, teaching and thinking. Koert van Mensvoort’s appointment is in line with the organisation’s conviction that there is an increasing, widely supported desire for new schools of thought for social issues.
Makkink & Bey
Architect Rianne Makkink (1964) and designer Jurgen Bey (1965) have demonstrated their strong commitment to the international design world on many levels for many years. As Studio Makkink & Bey, they have connected different disciplines since 2002, for example product design with interior design, applied arts with architecture, exhibition and landscape design, and they research social and economic systems. Both are active in education, act as curators and work with upcoming designers on a regular basis, including many DDW participants. More information: www.studiomakkinkbey.nl.
