Looking for inspiration or bubbling with groundbreaking ideas? Then meet the Living LAB 040 during DDW. This year we are organizing seminars and guided tours on location. We will focus on 3 themes: 100% bio-based building, circular area development and new generation building concepts.
Program
During DDW, we will organize a meeting at the LAB on three mornings. The meetings are intended to inspire participants and each other, to stimulate new acquaintances and make connections. This year we are doing this focused around 3 themes. After a general kick-off, we dive into the challenges, opportunities and possibilities around the specific theme.
The program starts at 09.30 and ends around 12.00.
- Monday 21th of oktober: 100% biobased and zero CO2
- Tuesday 22th of October: circular development
- Thursday 24th of October: new building concepts
Participants are invited to share their views on the topic as well. And who knows, one of the ideas will lead to new collaboration and innovation in the LAB.
The three themes
Session 1
100% biobased and zero CO2 | Monday 21.10
Construction is responsible for almost 40% of the CO2 footprint worldwide. But by using more natural and regenerative materials we can build CO2 negatively. How do we make this transition? What obstacles do we have to overcome? And which ideas are promising?
Session 2
Circular development | Tuesday 22.10
When we start a construction project, we first demolish all nature and then restore it. Isn't that strange? In the LAB we are on the eve of development of our 'Stadskamer'. We want to approach this process based on circular ambitions, in which water, soil, biodiversity and use of circular materials play a central role. Think along with us. How do we go from demolition to really being a guest in the area?
Session 3
New building concepts | Thursday 24.10
There is an enormous growth in industrial housing products. Although this is a positive development, we see the need to call for a new generation of housing concepts. Industrial products that are not designed based on efficiency, but where industrial processes serve needs of the end users. We'll share our insights from research into various building concepts and new ideas.
The key ingredient for success is sharing knowledge
In each session we share our knowledge that we gained in the Living LAB 040 by conducting different experiments. We share our toughs on the subject and challenge the participants to do the same. Only by collaboration and open innovation we can change the building industry and build healthy and sustainable cities.
The sessions are free. But in case of 'no show' we will charge our costs and and send an invoice for €75 excluding VAT. By registering for the session you agree to this.
