Re-charge

A multi-sensory installation with pyramid structures, texts, sound, taste and smell. A space to slow down, reflect and do nothing for a while.

installation view — © Lieke van der Wel

A makers' collective of designers and artists creates a spatial and sensory experience in a high industrial living-work space on Strijp R, as a gentle protest against societies driven too much by notions of efficiency and economic prosperity.

Do nothing and recharge

Re-charge draws attention to the importance of regeneration and rest in the overstimulated, consumerist surrounding of contemporary world, reminding about the alternative ways of being. It combines various design disciplines and uses them as tools to create a moment of recharge, a place where visitors can slow down, reflect — and hopefully — finally do nothing for a while.

Tools to recharge

Poetic spoken words as a invitation to enhance the experience of the senses -smell, sound, taste- to fully experience the immersive installation.
(Natacha Pincemaille-Neveu).

Five different subtle scent landscapes that stimulate a collective state of mind, a sense of unity and connection.
(Mandy Shah)

Sparkling water with flavors of different herbs. The drinks have a calming effect, provide relaxation and focus.
(Georgia Janssen)

Textile banners presenting texts on the act of "doing nothing" seen from various perspectives — as a vital activity, a protest strategy, an idle.
(Ola Korbańska)

A soundscape through an 8D audio setup (Dolby Atmos) that allows visitors to move freely and hear the sound independently from every angle.
(Jeroen Dirrix)

An installation of 7 open wooden pyramid structures in space as a heterotopic landscape of indoor and outdoor spaces in an industrial void.
(Bert Dirrix)

Re-charge Live

Daily from 5 pm to 6 pm.
A guided meditation in form of 'spoken words', an invitation to (re)discover and nourish our inner landscapes. 7 people in 7 pyramids in a silent field of connection.
