Magnet, a Japan-based design collective, will showcase "Touch Planet," featuring haptic games and experiments created with Hayato Tabata, a deaf-blind haptic designer. In this immersive experience, the audience transforms into haptic adventurers. Join us to explore the captivating world of touch!
A haptic adventure for all
"Touch Planet" is a playground for sense of touch.
The audience will experience a variety of haptic games and join in communication experiments through touch.

It is okay if you are shy. When you come to this planet, you will surely enjoy unprecedented communication together. Everyone in the world can participate and have fun. Let's embark on a haptic adventure.
A collaboration with a haptic designer
In this exhibition, we are collaborating with Tabata Hayato, a deaf-blind haptic designer. He communicates through the haptic methods: tactile sign language and finger Braille. Indeed, He truly lives in a world of touch. The tactile world he describes is incredibly rich and vivid.
"Touch conveys a wide range of sensations. By simply holding someone's hand, you can feel not just the meaning behind their words, but also their emotions and feelings," he explains.
It was from this question—whether we could share the richness of communication through touch with more people—that our project began.
For a planet where we truly play together
We have many kinds of differences: gender, age, disabilities, etc. Some let them divide us and cause suffering. How can we get over those differences and unite as one?
In DDW24, we make a place where different people can enjoy interacting with one another and unite, no matter what gender, age you are, and no matter what disabilities you may have.
We will explore a way of communication using the sense of touch, a sense that all people can share. From here, a new form of language that can be shared by everyone is bound to expand.
