Manifold Encounters is an interactive installation highlighting the refugee situation across the Netherlands and Europe. Visitors engage with a 3D topographic puzzle representing refugee camps, symbolizing how refugees become woven into the fabric of European society, fostering societal integration.

Immersive Puzzle Play Experience

Manifold Encounters is an immersive installation that sheds light on the ongoing refugee situation across the Netherlands and Europe. At its core, the installation features a large-scale, interactive 3D topographic puzzle, where pieces represent refugee camps scattered across the European landscape. Visitors are invited to engage with this puzzle, physically assembling the fragmented camps and symbolically integrating them into the broader geographical context of Europe and the Netherlands.

Societal Weaving and Integration

As participants piece together the puzzle, they actively participate in an act of societal reflection, where refugees are metaphorically woven into the fabric of the continent. This tactile experience encourages visitors to consider the complexities of displacement, migration, and integration, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and shared space.

Installation Nexus Structure

A nexus wall, designed as a cross section nodal point, welcomes visitors into the puzzle area. This immersive transition enhances the experience, with Manifold Encounters serving as a poignant metaphor for societal integration and fostering collective understanding across Europe.
